Simply fabulous: our new buses for comfortable travel
The expansion of attractive bus and rail connections in northern Hesse is the central goal of the NVV. In addition to a suitable fare system and diverse digital and analog information channels, the quality of the vehicles is an important pillar for the NVV.
The new design concept for NVV buses should be seen in particular in the context of the “Offensive for rural areas”. The aim of this is to ensure that every village in northern Hesse has an hourly bus service.
A lot has changed for the better
The new design concept will give the NVV buses a new look. The bright traffic red will be replaced by a pleasant white in combination with the NVV colors blue and green.
Together with the local public transport companies, the decision was made to give the vehicles a look that blends in beautifully with the hilly landscape of northern Hesse. In addition to the color scheme, small elements such as illustrative fairy tale figures will also be used to playfully emphasize the connection with the region.
The vehicles are not only more beautiful on the outside, the NVV also wants to impress on the inside. The multi-purpose area, for example, will be larger and much more comfortable for wheelchair users. Parents with baby carriages will also find the space they deserve here. The rear seating area of the vehicles is to be made more attractive with new comfort seats. The seats also have a USB port, which makes using a cell phone or working while driving easier and - supported by storage areas - more comfortable.
An information column with an integrated monitor is still being planned, which will provide passengers with up-to-date information. The seats, floor and ceiling of the vehicles are kept calm and elegant in color and, like the exterior design, are based on the NVV color scheme.
Over the next ten years, around 500 buses of different sizes and manufacturers in the NVV will receive the new comfort and the new exterior design as part of the upcoming tenders.
