Please note: The price of the Seniorenticket Hessen will increase to 379 euros from 1 January 2025.
- For additional flexibility, there is the Seniorenticket Hessen Komfort for 625 euros per year.
- With this ticket, you can travel before 9 a.m. and use 1st class.
- It allows you to take one adult and any number of children under the age of 15 with you - Monday to Friday from 7 pm and all day on weekends and public holidays.

Questions and answers about the Seniorenticket Hessen
- The Seniorenenticket is for anyone aged 65 and over.
- The earliest possible start of validity is the first day of the month in which you turn 65. For example, if you celebrate your 65th birthday on January 20, you can order the Senior Citizen Ticket with validity from January 1.
- You do not have to live in Hessen to use the Seniorenticket Hessen and Seniorenticket Hessen Komfort, but you can only use the ticket in the three Hessian transport associations.
- The ticket is only valid for the holder and may not be transferred to other persons.
- The ticket is valid throughout Hesse all means of transport operated by any of the 3 Hessian transport associations NVV, RMV and VRN.
- You can use the ticket to conveniently reach important hub stations in neighbouring federal states, for example Warburg, Hann. Münden or Gerstungen. This makes it easier to change to other transport networks.
- You can use it on all buses, Tram, RegioTrams, S-Bahn trains, trams, shared call cabs (AST), subway trains and regional trains in Hesse and Mainz. You can even use the night buses and express buses.
- The Senior Citizen Ticket is only not valid on long-distance trains.
- It is only on long-distance trains that the Senior Citizen Ticket is not valid. With the Seniorenticket Hessen you can only use 2nd class. If you want to use 1st class, you need the Seniorenticket Hessen Komfort.
- The ticket is valid for you from the first day of any calendar month and then for a full 12 consecutive months. If you do not cancel it, it is automatically extended for a further 12 months.
- You can use the Seniorenticket Hessen from 9 am Monday to Friday.
- It is valid all day at weekends, on public holidays in Hesse and on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
- The Seniorenticket Hessen Komfort is valid without time restrictions. This means you can use it at any time of day.
- The Seniorenticket Hessen costs 365 euros per year if paid as a lump sum or 31 euros per monthif paid in instalments = 372 euros per year.
- The Seniorenticket Hessen Komfort costs 625 euros per year if paid as a lump sum or 53 euros per month if paid in instalments = 636 euros per year.
- On the move around the clock: With the Seniorenticket Hessen Komfort, you can be mobile at any time of day, all year round. There are no time restrictions.

Additional rules
- Children under the age of 7 who do not yet go to school can travel free of charge on buses and trains in the NVV area if they are accompanied by at least one person who has a valid ticket.

Bicycles can be taken along free of charge.
Please note:
- Please park your bike in the designated areas without disturbing other passengers.
- There is no guarantee that you will always be able to take your bike with you, but we will do our best to make this possible.
- In certain situations, transport company staff may prohibit you from taking your bike with you for operational reasons. Please understand that the staff's decisions regarding vehicle capacity and the appropriate parking location for your bike are ultimately for the safety of the passengers.
- If you are traveling with a group of cyclists, please notify the NVV service telephone at 0800-939-0800 (toll-free) at least 10 working days in advance. Please note that groups with bicycles cannot be taken on buses.
- It is not possible to take bicycles on AST (AnrufSammelTaxi) services.
- You can also use our bicycle parking facilities.

You can take your pet with you free of charge, but it is up to the train or bus staff to decide.
- Please keep dogs on a lead and keep an eye on them. Dangerous dogs must wear a muzzle. Dog breeds listed in §2 of the Dog Ordinance may not be transported.
Other pets may travel in suitable containers. - In a car, such as a AnrufSammelTaxi (AST), dogs may only be carried in a transport box, provided they are no larger than a domestic cat.
- Assistance dogs and guide dogs may always be taken along as long as the rules of §145 Para. 2 Sentence 2 of the SGB IX are followed.
