Eschwege city railway station
Previous situation:
Eschwege town centre was not directly connected to the NVV rail network. Only one bus route connected Eschwege West station with the Eschwege city centre. As a result, travelling to and from Eschwege was cumbersome and time-consuming.
Solution:
Today, the regional train RB7 runs to the stations "Eschwege-Niederhone" and "Eschwege". It thus serves the centre of Eschwege over short distances. The journey time has improved compared to 2008: passengers need 25 minutes less time to Kassel and 40 minutes less time to Frankfurt.
The Eschwege city railway station itself has also been a great success since it opened in 2009: the new public transport interface with service building, multi-storey car park, large covered central bus station and platforms has won several awards and upgraded the entire area. The station has become a popular meeting place with an NVV customer centre and café.
